A NVQ in Providing Security Services is proof you have all the occupational skills you need as a security officer - and is flexible enough to cover areas specific to individual job roles in the industry.
You're a security officer who wants to develop your skills and experience in the profession. You may also want to develop skills in other sectors of the security industry to which you work, such as CCTV or door supervision, manned guarding, close protection.
The qualification is designed to give you a level of understanding of the industry to that of a supervisory or management role thus enabling you to gain possible promotion. It also counts towards your CPD [Continued Professional Development] which proves to any perspective employer that you are compliant in the knowledge of the security industry and Health and Safety.
In Order to assess delegate competency you must complete 5 core units:
* Producing documents
* Making sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
* Communicating effectively and efficiently in the workplace
* Controlling security incidents
* Giving customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation.
You also choose 1 specialist pathway from:
* Static and Patrol Guarding;
* Events Security
* Door Supervision
* Retail Security;
* Reception Security
* CCTV Operation.
You then complete 1 core unit and 3 optional units associated with your pathway.
