This privacy policy is a requirement of the Data Protect Act 1989 & as such MIST uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website.
MIST is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected at all times, however we do not guarantee that your transmitted data cannot be intercepted unless our site is encrypted from the server to your terminal unless you see a 'gold padlock' or the page is indicated as being secured by SSL (Secured Socket layer) using at least 128 bit encryption.As this site is work in progress, not all pages will be encrypted.

MIST is required to hold certain personal information about our students. Information will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Personal data will be used for a variety of purposes that MIST considers to be of benefit to students including (but not restricted to) monitoring performance, statistical reporting, awarding qualifications and provision of services in accordance to any/all awarding bodies or licenced centres we have agreements with for providing training services and or certification.. Agreement to the processing of personal data is a condition of acceptance onto any MIST course. By applying for a course you signify your agreement to this processing.
In particular it is adviseable to note that:
* You are agreeing to MIST releasing appropriate information to relevant third parties such as BTEC / Edexcel, OCR, Highfields, City & Guilds, employers, prospective employers, providers of training contracts and other appropriate organisations or individuals. This may include providing references on your behalf or information relating to your performance. * Sensitive Personal Data (as defined under the Act) will not be disclosed without your specific consent. Information will not be released to third parties for marketing purposes.
Postponement or Cancellation of Confirmed Booking
Should any course be cancelled by the course sponsor/booking agency or any individual person prior to the course commencing & once confirmed, the following sliding scale of charges will apply:
* 28 days prior to course date: 75% fees due payable * 14 days prior to course date: 100% fees due payable
Credit Card Security
All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when an online order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach the bank's computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site, and MIST has no access to these details and therefore it is in your best interest to print off any receipts as proof of purchase for your own records
We accept credit card details over the phone but we will not store any financial details (credit or debit card numbers). It is an offence by law to keep any card details unless specifically requsted to do so by the card holder and as such must be confirmed in writingh and witnessed by a person of legal standing such as a solicitor in order to complete identity requirements.
