Employee - Instructor Training
Men in Security Training is responsible for ensuring all employees and supervisors are properly trained. It is committed to providing adequate time and resources to train all personnel to perform their duties in an efficient and safe manner.
Management is responsible for ensuring records of all completed training courses are maintained. A review of all training should take place at the regular management/supervisor meetings and meetings of the joint health and safety committee and must be completed no less than annually.
Management Training
In addition to participating in M.I.S.Ts supervisory training requirements, operations management will be trained to an advanced training qualification and in maintaining safety in the workplace be refreshed annually for legal and competency requirements under statute law and in compliance to the Health & Safety At Work Act 1984 & the Management of Health & Safety At Work Act 1998
Supervision Training
All M.I.S.T supervision personnel must attend the following safety competency courses:
?Supervisor competency via an accredited organization (e.g. NFPS, MIST)
• First aid and CPR
• Fall protection (train the trainer)
• M.I.S.Ts health and safety program training
• Specialised tool and equipment instruction as required (Handcuff Instructor)
Worker Training/Instruction
Instructors will be instructed by a competent person to ensure that safety is maintained in theplace of training at all times and follow the Risk Management Policy . Formal training must be provided for the following:
• Fall Protection
• Personal Protective Equipment (approved restraint equipment)
• Tools and equipment (new or specialised must be maintained in accordance to the Health & Safety At Work Act)
• Emergency Response
An evaluation must be completed to ensure Instructors/coaches/tutors are familiar with program content and the activities for which they will be responsible.
Visitors
Any M.I.S.T Management employee authorising a site visit assumes responsibility that visitors are aware of all safety requirements and have in their possession all safety equipment required for the site and that all the relevant safety protocols and documentation is complied with at all times. Visitors/delegates will be asked to leave any training if this ruling is ignored or disregarded and their actions deemed to be a risk to any other visitor/delegate in any training location.
